At MSD Haarlem we have an exciting opportunity for a

Business and Market Intelligence Specialist - 32 hours per week

As Business and Market Intelligence Specialist you will gather, structure, analyze and create insights on market data. You will report, alert and advise your business partners (like BU directors, Sales Managers or Brand & Customer Manager) on national or regional developments and trends regarding areas relevant to MSD.

You are responsible for all in market data sources and its correctness. From data to insight. You do this by monthly reporting, ad-hoc questions and by sharing proactively your findings to the business.

We want you to be a true data sparring partner for the business and that you own the data.

The Department
Commercial Operations is a team of experienced specialists within MSD Haarlem who works with the Human Health organization in the day to day work and realizing their business objectives. The team is proactive and strongly connected with the various stakeholders who keep you up to speed of the market needs and requirements. The dynamic environment requires flexibility and stimulates creativity and thinking outside the box.

Main responsibilities
As Business and Market Intelligence Specialist you will report to the Associate Director Commercial Operations and your focus is Market Research & Analytics.

Gathers, compiles and shares market information
Supports local franchise teams in customer segmentation
Tracks, analyzes and reports metrics and local projects (such as competitive intelligence, patient modeling and data sourcing)
Creates and maintains marketing and sales dashboards
Create and maintains Hospital dashboards
Create and maintains Wholesale dashboards
Calculate Sales Incentive targets and results
Create patient and forecast models
Ensures that external parties are aware of and abide the instructions and rules of MSD in each relevant field of cooperation
Reports to the Associate Director of Commercial Operations
Collaborates with colleagues Data Scientist, Market Research Managers, CRM analyst, Finance and the local franchise teams.

Het profiel / Your profile

BSc degree
At least 2 years relevant work experience in the field of business intelligence or marketing, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
You are fluent in English and good in Dutch (min. NT2 level)
Analytical skills: Good understanding of statistical market analysis. Able to deploy the right resources to obtain customer information and perform quantitative analysis of information converting them into relevant advices for marketing.
Numerical understanding: Edit, analyze and interpret numerical data.
Judgment: Using quantitative information from different angles, matching them thoroughly against commercial objectives in order to reach balanced decisions for the marketing plan.
Effective planning and organizing: Translating the predetermined marketing strategy in data analysis activities together with designated colleagues and available resources and coordinating various activities of stakeholders involved
Collaborate: Ensures that common goals are met, both internally and externally by promoting cross-functional cooperation among stakeholders
Persuasiveness: Expresses ability in to exert persuasive influence on the ideas and opinions of others
Broad understanding of MSD"s business
Capable of analyzing complex situations with calm and lucidity, eliminating redundant information and retrieving only those that are necessary for his activity/objectives.
Comfortable working independently
Strong team-spirit and personal leadership capabilities to organize non-direct reports around Business Intelligence priorities
Strategic, analytical and good administrative skills
Unafraid to interact with high level stake holders (authority persons)
