Our client is the only fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization. The company, including a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and Contract Commercial Organization (CCO), is purpose-built to address new market realities where clinical and commercial share expertise, data and insights to accelerate biopharmaceutical performance.

In a pan-European setting, our client is gathering a team of medical and sales experts to facilitate the launch of the first approved dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) therapy. By assigning you for this team, they have the best people in place to achieve their mission: "Shortening the distance between lab and life."


De functie / The role

As Key Account Manager (KAM) Ophthalmology your primary responsibility is to deliver the agreed sales, productivity and performance targets for the designated market. You will deliver activities and targets focused on sales within budget and defined timelines. Furthermore, you will develop, implement and monitor progressive Key Account Plans that are aligned with the national strategy.

An essential part of your job is to identify and develop long-term partnerships with selected specialists, predominantly hospital-based, payer groups and other stakeholders such as Ophthalmic Surgeons. As a KAM you will establish stable and positive networks to lead discussions related to this therapeutic area, and support physicians in their choice of the used dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) therapy. On occasions, you will also be present in the theatre to support physicians with your expert advice.


Het profiel / Your profile

To succeed in this role you have a background in medical devices or ophthalmology and a proven track record in a secondary care environment. In addition, you have outstanding planning and organisation skills. You can think analytically and you are able to combine this with decision making capabilities. You are a "completer finisher" and you believe that you can make a difference. Most important is that you work in a team, although the team members are scattered over Europe.

Working in a team of experienced hospital specialists, you will support the launch of the first approved therapeutic option, solely targeted on patients suffering from dry AMD.

In addition, you can look forward to a competitive salary - depending on your level of experience between 55.000€ and 70.000€ - an attractive bonus of approximately 15%, life insurance, company car and additional benefits.
